FenCon Designated Charity
Our designated charity for FenCon IX is
Literacy Instruction for Texas, one of the most widely respected adult literacy education
programs in the United States. The purpose of LIFT is simple: to teach illiterate and low literate
adults to read English. It does not matter why they cannot read; LIFT's mission is "to enhance
lives and strengthen communities by raising the adult literacy rate in Texas". Our 2012 charity
efforts, including a limited edition signed and numbered art print by our Artist Guest of Honor,
Donato Giancola, and our annual charity auction, raised more than $3,100. |
