A Fan-Operated Science Fiction and Fantasy Literary and Filk Convention in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area

FenCon VIII: September 23-25, 2011

FenCon VIII was the host for DeepSouthCon 49, a gathering of fans from across the southern United States. This was the first DSC held in Texas.

FenCon Designated Charity

Our designated charity for FenCon VIII / DeepSouthCon 49 was Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County, Texas. This nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeks to "eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action". Our charity auction and the limited-edition Vincent Di Fate cover print raised $2500 for this worthy cause.
