Thank you, Houston: The FenCon team is back from one of our favorite Texas conventions, ApolloCon. It was fun hanging out with Allen Steele, Margaret Middleton, our good friend Selina Rosen, and all the fen down Houston way. And special thanks to all the folks who stopped by our patent-pending semi-legendary room party for snacks, beverages, good people, and lots of fun. We hope to see y'all again in October at FenCon. Houston, we have a party: The FenCon team is headed down I-45 to Houston this weekend for one of our favorite Texas conventions, ApolloCon. They've got Allen Steele as a guest of honor, Filk GoH Margaret Middleton, and many more fine folk. Check out the ApolloCon website for all the details. And join us on Saturday night for one of our patent-pending semi-legendary room parties! We'll have snacks, beverages, good people, and lots of fun. Stop by and say howdy. They're not us, we're not them: There is a for-profit, media-oriented autograph show and convention at a hotel out by D/FW Airport this weekend. Their name, "FedConUSA," is similar to ours but we are not related in any way to this event. Robert Lynn Asprin, RIP: One of our favorite authors, Bob Asprin, died unepxectedly on Thursday, May 22nd. Apparently, he passed away in his sleep at home in New Orleans. More details are probably available elsewhere but for now all we know here is that a great writer, a fine musician, and a good friend have been lost to us. Bob had been to several Dallas conventions over the years and it was a thrill to chat with him at ConDFW a few years back. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. He will be missed.
