FenCon Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy discloses the online privacy practices for FenCon and the Dallas Future Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (collectively, "DFS") and applies to the information we collect through www.fencon.org (the "Site"). By accessing and/or using the Site, you are consenting to the collection, storage, and disclosure of data as described in this Privacy Policy.


DFS reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, update, or remove portions of this Privacy Policy. We will post any changes to this Policy on this page so you can readily review the most current version. We will indicate on the bottom of this Privacy Policy the date it was last updated.


Personal Information

When you use this Site to become a DFS member, request information offered via the Site, or otherwise interact with DFS through the Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain information about yourself, including, your name, email address, phone number, mailing address and membership status ("Personal Information").


Use of Personal Information

We will use Personal Information for the purposes of fulfilling membership requests and other requests for information and updates regarding the Site and FenCon. We will never share your Personal Information with with any sponsor or other third party. We may use Personal Information for our own fund raising and marketing efforts. Except as provided below under "Disclosures for Legal Reasons", we will not sell, trade or otherwise provide Personal Information to any commercial or governmental entity. We may compile and provide aggregate statistics about our Site visitors to third parties, but these statistics will not include any Personal Information.


Connection-Related Information

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer every time you browse the Internet. When a user requests a page from the Site, our servers log the user's current IP address and certain other connection-related information. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer the Site.


Disclosures for Legal Reasons

DFS will disclose Personal Information and connection-related information when it believes, in its sole discretion, that: (a) the law requires such disclosure; or (b) such disclosure is necessary to (i) comply with the law; (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of DFS or others; or (iii) protect the personal safety of the public or the users of the Site.
