A Fan-Operated Science Fiction and Fantasy Literary and Filk Convention in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area
January 19, 2008: On a chilly Saturday afternoon the FenCon staff and
volunteers gathered at the Crowne Plaza in Addison to get organized for the new year, learn about the
plans for 2008, and throw our annual kickoff party. New con chair Russ Miller kept the information
flowing and we're revved up and ready to celebrate 50 years of science fiction conventions in Texas.
At 5pm the party started and we were so glad to see so many of our guests, volunteers, members, and
friends drop in for conversation, snacks, and fannish fellowship. Thanks to new consuite runner
Cheri for pulling the event together and organizing the snackage.
