Charity
We love to give.
Thanks to all the fen who, over the years, have helped us give more than $22,000 to several
worthy causes. Our annual charity efforts, born out of necessity in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in
2005, now seek to help a North Texas organization that can effect positive change in our community.
FenCon's charity for 2015 is Earning by Learning of Dallas - serving more than 100,000 children since its inception in 1996, Earning by Learning (EBL) is a nationwide literacy movement. Through its headquarters in Dallas and satellite centers in Richmond and Seattle, EBL provides reading incentives to children in grades K-6 in communities concerned with the academic success of their young people.
Creating a culture of reading in school and out of school, Earning by Learning is helping to empower children, strengthen schools, and foster literate communities through reading.

Our charity efforts this year will include a limited
edition signed and numbered art print by our Artist Guest of Honor, Mitch Bentley. The Twelth in the highly collectable FenCon charity print series, the printing costs of these
works of art are paid by FenCon so your entire $10 donation for each print goes
directly to the charity. We'll also have our annual charity auction on Saturday night, in
conjunction with our art auction, plus a donation jar so you can give directly to this
worthy cause. |
