FenCon and the Dallas Future Society are happy to announce that our third annual
Writers Workshop will be hosted by award-winning editor and publisher Toni Weisskopf!.
We're thrilled to welcome her as our Special Guest and instructor for our writers workshop.
This will be an intense series of sessions inconjunction with FenCon IV,
featuring lectures, one-on-one workshopping, invaluable feedback, an expert critique, and some
quality peer interaction all personally run by Toni Weisskopf.
If this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, we are
happy to be of service. However, there are a few things you should know:
- The workshop will be held starting the evening of Thursday September 20th and
continue with morning and evening sessions on Friday and a morning session on Saturday.
- Acceptable works are novel proposals or short stories (under 5000 words) in the science
fiction, fantasy, or horror genres. For complete details, see page two of the
writers workshop
registration form. Please note that the writers workshop is full and no more
applications will be accepted.
- Workshop enrollment is limited to 20 participants and registration cannot be
confirmed until payment is received.
- All participants must be paid attending members of
FenCon IV. Either a full regular or Friend of the Fen membership meets
this requirement.
- There is a $35 fee for participating in the workshop in addition to the membership price.
- If you apply by postal mail, you must immediately send us an e-mail immediately to
reserve your slot for up to 10 days.
You will be given the details on how and where to submit your story for the
instructor's personal review after your workshop registration is processed.
